Georgia's Brown Thrasher
#28 I missed this one on two prior visits. A couple of nice girls at the Wildflower Cafe in Alabama east of Huntsville, on the way to Berry College in Rome, GA, gave me a hint that the college would be a good place to watch birds. Yep. There were a few photographers and watchers looking at the bald eagle nestlings about to fledge. It's weird to them that I'd be more interested in a brown thrasher. I got a bunch of images and raced onward to the real hunt in Alabama (where I missed again).
On my first visit to Georgia I spent a good time on Jekyll Island and returned to Roswell, GA to stay with Rob and Sara. My bags were packed and ready for the flight out when a BRTH hopped up to the house window and posed. Do I dig for the camera or come back another time? Oh, well, I let that one go for later.
