Arizona's Cactus Wren
#30 on the tour. Sabino Canyon about 1/4 mile from visitor center. There are a lot of these birds in the Park but I didn't hunt a better photo once I got this one. I went on to explore more of the area and had a rather embarrassing and painful fall into Sabino Creek on top of my camera. I'm no stranger to walking in creeks but my flexibility and strength are decaying away in tiny, subtle increments. I formed a useful mantra as I sat there in the creek trying to dump water out of my lens: Dave, you aren't as capable as you remember.
The Canon 7D Mark II dried out and so did the 100-400mm lens but I used the dousing as an excuse to upgrade to the much better Mark II lens. From here on out, my chances of getting a usable photo became much better.
